O Occultus Ars Tenebrae entrevistou os finlandeses do AZAGHAL, que tem show marcado em solo brasileiro em agosto.

OAT: Saudações guerreiros!! Ficamos muito felizes que tenham disposto de um tempo para esta entrevista.
Niflungr: Não há problema. O prazer é todo meu.
OAT: Como a banda está se sentindo com a notícia de que estarão em solo brasileiro ainda este ano? E o que os fãs da banda devem esperar deste show que será inesquecível e destruidor ao mesmo tempo?
Niflungr: Organizar uma turnê latino-americana juntos é um quebra-cabeça de mais de 20 peças (a banda, os promotores locais, a gerência de turismo, etc.). Então, se tudo correr como planejado, esta será uma das ocasiões mais memoráveis na história da banda.
A formação será ligeiramente diferente, desde a visita anterior ao Brasil, mas posso garantir que as mudanças no line-up fizeram o desempenho da banda ainda mais dinâmico e forte.
OAT: O último trabalho da banda é o álbum ‘Madon Sanat’, lançado no ano de 2015, vocês tem previsão de quando sairá o novo trabalho?
Niflungr: Estamos reunindo idéias para o próximo lançamento, e espero que já tenhamos gravado um disco antes do final do ano!
Inspiração não pode ser forçada, mas as coisas estão promissoras no momento, no que vem para o processo de criação e composição.
OAT: A banda pretende lançar um videoclipe em breve? Se sim qual é a ideia que vem na cabeça de vocês?
Niflungr: No momento, não parece muito realista para nós lançar um vídeo musical.
OAT: Qual sua opinião em relação à cena mundial e local?
Niflungr: Exatidão política, Antifa e outras pestilências estão se tornando cada vez mais incomodando na cena extrema do mundo. Ódio, guerra, morte, sangue, fogo e intolerância devem ser trazidos de volta à música extrema. Nstes dias atuais é tudo sobre não ferir os sentimentos de ninguém. Repugnante.
Sobre a cena local; Há mais bandas do que nunca. Mas, ao mesmo tempo, cada vez menos público está participando dos shows locais. Existem muitas bandas muito semelhantes no país, e, portanto, a audiência possível está ficando cansada da cena e fica em casa em vez disso. A qualidade importa, não a quantidade.
OAT: Em uma palavra, descreva os shows da horda. Qual de suas apresentações foi a mais marcante?
Niflungr: Não tem muitos truques de circo ou coisas teatrais acontecendo durante nossos rituais ao vivo. É tudo sobre energia escura, sangue e suor. Os shows mais memoráveis que já tocamos devem ter sido nossa última turnê no Brasil.Foi mágico.
OAT: Há planos para uma passagem pelo Sul do Brasil?
Niflungr:Neste momento, há planos para Santa Catarina, mas nada confirmado 100% ainda.
OAT: Fale-nos de suas influências musicais e filosóficas.
Niflungr: Minhas influências musicais pessoais vêm do (naturalmente) Black Metal do início/meados dos anos 90's norueguês/sueco/finlandês. Em 2017 eu fui influenciado na maior parte pelo ruído japonês, a música da raiz de Balcãs e Apator. Filosoficamente sou influenciado pela chama preta que nos impulsiona para a frente na busca da sabedoria, da plenitude e da iluminação.
OAT: Como você descreveria a trajetória do AZAGHAL desde a demo ‘Noituuden Torni’ até os dias atuais?
Niflungr: Esta versão é um presságio muito primitivo que o que estava para vir. Musicalmente falando, a banda ainda não estava pronta, mas a fúria e o espírito já estava presente há 19-20 anos atrás.
OAT: Quais são as principais temáticas abordadas em suas letras?
Niflungr: Satanismo, antigo conhecimento esotérico, mitos em diferentes culturas, blasfêmia e puro ódio.

OAT: Niflungr: No problem at all. The pleasure is all mine.
OAT: How is the band feeling about the news that they will be on Brazilian soil still this year? And what fans of the band should expect from this show that will be unforgettable and destructive at the same time?
Niflungr: Putting a latin-american tour together is a puzzle of more than 20 pieces (the band, the local promoters, the tour management, etc.).
So, IF everything goes as planned, this will be one of the most memorable occasions in the history of the band.
The line-up will be slightly different, since the previous visit to Brazil, but I can assure that the line-up changes have made the band performance even more dynamic and strong.
OAT: The last work of the band is the album 'Madon Sanat', released in the year 2015, when will the new work come out?
Niflungr: We are putting together ideas for the next release, and hopefully we are already getting a disk out before the end of the year!
Inspiration cannot be forced, but things are looking promising at the moment, what comes to creation process and composing.
OAT: The band plans to release a music video soon? If so, what is the idea in your head?
Niflungr: At the moment it doesn't look very realistic for us releasing a music video.
OAT: What do you think about the world extreme scene and your local scene?
Niflungr: Political correctness, Antifa and other pestilences are becoming more and more bothering in the world extreme scene.
Hate, war, death, blood, fire and intolerance should be brought back to the extreme music.
These days it is all about not hurting anyone's feelings. Disgusting.
About the local scene; there are more bands than ever before. But at the same time, fewer and fewer audience is participating the local gigs.
There are too many of too similar bands in the country, and therefore the possible audience is getting tired of the scene and staying home instead.The quality matters, not the quantity.
OAT: In a word, describe the horde shows. Which of your presentations was the most outstanding?
Niflungr: Not too many circus tricks or theatrical stuff going on during our live rituals.
It is all about dark energy, blood and sweat. The most memorable concerts we have played, must have been our latest Brazil tour.
It was magical.
OAT: Are there plans for the passage through southern Brazil?
Niflungr: At this moment, there are plans for Santa Catarina, but nothing confirmed 100% yet.
OAT: Tell us about your musical and philosophical influences.
Niflungr: My personal musical influences come from (naturally) the early/mid 90's Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish Black Metal. In 2017 I have been mostly influenced by Japanese noise, Balkan root music and Apator. Philosophically I am influenced by the black flame that drives us for forward in the search of wisdom, fullfillment and illumination.
OAT: How would you describe the trajectory of AZAGHAL since the 'Noituuden Torni' demo to the present day?
Niflungr: This release is a very primitive omen that what was to come. Muscially speaking, the band was not ready yet, but the fury and the spirit was already present 19-20 years ago.
OAT: What are the main themes addressed in your lyrics?
Niflungr: Satanism, ancient esoteric knowledge, myths in different cultures, blasphemy and pure hatred.
